Plant tissue culture grows plant cells, tissues, or organs under controlled in-vitro conditions on a nutrient medium. For a beginner, the useful mental model is not “a magic jar,” but a controlled propagation system in which plant identity, explant, medium, environment, stage, and handling all matter.

In vitro means the material is being cultured outside the intact plant in a controlled vessel or system.
In vitro describes growth outside the intact plant under controlled conditions; it does not mean ordinary outdoor cultivation.
